Vivienne Westwood

Introduction

Lauren Rodriguez and Chase Hall were married Saturday evening in a socially distanced ceremony on the street in front of their apartment building in New York City. The bride wore a Vivienne Westwood gown and veil that she found on Etsy and had altered by Patricia Stephens Atelier in New York to fit her. She carried fragrant peonies, freesia, and Queen Anne’s lace. The groom, 32, wore a bespoke suit from Paul Stuart. After an engagement party was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, Ms. Rodriguez wanted to have her wedding outside amid social distancing requirements mandated by the city government but still within sight of those closest to her heart.

Rachel Zoe, and Chase Hall

Lauren Rodriguez, a designer for Rachel Zoe, and Chase Hall, managing director of Dune Capital were married Saturday evening in a socially distanced ceremony on the street in front of their apartment building in New York City.

The bride wore a Westwood dress by Vivienne Westwood that she purchased at Barneys New York last summer. The groom wore an Armani tuxedo with bow tie from Brooks Brothers that he had purchased online several years ago but had never worn before today.

Peonies, Freesia, and Queen Anne’s Lace

The bride 30 wore a Vivienne Westwood gown and veil that she found on Etsy and had altered by Patricia Stephens Atelier in New York to fit her. She carried fragrant peonies, freesia, and Queen Anne’s lace. Or in other words, she donned a vintage Vivienne Westwood dress, blue-grey Manolo Blahnik heels, and a Bill Bull designed, hand made antique veil. As Lauren explains, “I always knew this was the dress I wanted to wear and it had to be antique.” So even though it was five months before Chase proposed, I knew I had to get it when a friend discovered it from a dealer in London. She is accessorized with a family heritage cameo pin on the underside of her corset and handcrafted Prounis emerald and pearl earrings. For the ceremony, Chase donned a custom Loro Piana Martin Greenfield double breasted suit with a piquet Charvet tuxedo shirt, matching emerald cufflinks, and a custom Prounis emerald lapel pin.

The Groom, 32, Wore a Bespoke Suit from Paul Stuart.

The groom 32 wore a bespoke suit from Paul Stuart. In keeping with the social distancing requirements of his role as a stay at home father, he opted for formal wear to avoid any potential confusion between his wife and his new family members. He says he’s also partial to short sleeves because they make him feel more comfortable when out at events like this one: “I know that Lauren likes being able to show off her arms,” he says.

Ms. Rodriguez Wanted To Have Her Wedding Outside

After an engagement party was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, Ms. Rodriguez wanted to have her wedding outside. She chose to hold it on a street in New York City and had it held during the springtime (April). Following the witness, everyone went to Balthazar in Soho for a wild supper that included seafood towers, steak au poivre, a tonne of French fries, and a tonne of martinis. Lauren changed into a strapless antique Chanel sequin dress in black and white and put on Chanel footwear. A close friend of the couple, Tracey Ryans, presided over the event and expertly guided guests through speeches that were equal parts moving and funny. New York’s favorite brasserie was transformed into one large dance floor as the celebration continued all night and into the early hours of the morning. As visitors danced while holding calla lilies and donning colorful feather masks, waiters and kitchen staff joined in.

Almost 10 People Witnessed Vows

Because of social distancing to restrictions mandated by the city, no more than 10 people could gather to witness their vows. The couple had to limit the size of their wedding party to 10 people, or else they would have been fined. They also didn’t want any children in attendance the city requires that all weddings be held indoors for safety reasons.

Because of these rules, it was important for them to find a venue that was both intimate and historic, so they chose an abandoned church on the Lower East Side.

Lovely Scenery For The Occasion

The street, which is lined with cherry trees in full bloom, provided lovely scenery for the occasion.

By marrying on the street, they could invite all their friends and family members to come to witness their union. The couple chose to get married on a sunny day in New York City because they wanted to make sure that everyone had an opportunity to attend.

“We felt so lucky to be able to still get married surrounded by our closest friends and family even if it was from six feet apart during such tumultuous times,” Ms. Rodriguez said.

Amid Social Distancing Requirements

Amid social distancing requirements and stay at home orders from the Covid pandemic. The couple was married on the street in front of their apartment building. The bride wore a Vivienne Westwood gown and veil, while her groom wore a bespoke suit from Paul Stuart.

In keeping with the theme of an old school wedding day, there were no guests present at the ceremony. Instead, it was held outdoors on New York City’s First Avenue a boulevard lined with shops and restaurants that boasts one of the largest collections of antique stores in the world (including Vivienne Westwood). It also offers a variety of other attractions like music venues and museums.

The street provided lovely scenery for this special occasion: sunbeams danced across its cobbled surface as passersby stopped to take photos; flowers bloomed all around us; birds chirped overhead; cars honked as they drove by…

Conclusion

The couple said they are happy with their choice of venue, even though it was difficult to find.
